I saw this strange beast online recently Dead Link Removed, they want far too much money for it, but it's a real oddity like a sheep with two heads.

I've always wanted one of these but they are just way too pricey for me.

Truly a wonderfully weird camera. I wonder just what problem they were trying to solve with that design?

That's actually the cheapest price I've seen on one of these. It looks really interesting, but it also looks too complicated for it's own good. Sort of like the Voigtlander Superb that I had. It was an engineering marvel and built to a high standard, but it was also heavy and I didn't trust the reliability, so I sold it and bought another Bakelite bodied Focusing Brillant w/ a Heliar lens for 1/4 of the price I that paid for the Superb. That Heliar lens was amazing.

It reminds me of the old saying " an elephant is a horse that was designed by a committee"

Thank you for hinting at it. I did not know it. There were just too many models built...

Recently I bought a camera designated "Perfekta". Hoping that with such camera I would overcome all photographic problems. Making me a great photograopher.

"Superfekta"

Well, now I got to have this one!

An ambitiously designed camera. Perhaps a little too ambitious, as the design never caught on.

I own two of these. they are wonderful cameras indeed, ways smaller than an ordinary tlr but as good. the one shown above is not cheap, but it's a rare item. film advance is very sophisticated. they are fun to use. I have made a page about them http://www.120folder.com/welta_perfekta.htm

Been away shooting all week and then processing so a bit jaded :D however there;s a few others as well I think, KW Pilot (may not be the right model name) and an Ihagee as well, it's a neat idea - not unique but it never really caught on.

as far as I know there were only 2 lines of 120 film folding tlr cameras, the welta perfekta/superfekta and the zeca-flex http://www.120folder.com/zeca_flex.htm.

and 2 other folding tlr cameras, but for 127 film, the pilot reflex and the primarette, also sold as planovista. I have never heard of an ihagee model, but would be very interested in further nformation.
