Dear Everyone (I suppose this is the best way to do this  ),

I am very glad to find a place where traditional techniques are affirmed and loved by all. I love black and white. I love developing my own.

On to other things you might want to know. I dabble in 35mm (Canon TLb), medium format (Seagull twin lens, don't gape please), and am going to explore large format hopefully soon (Poco no 18 5x7, my grandfather's). I enjoy making cyanotypes, partly because it is cheap, partly that I have control over it, and partly because I like blue.

As far as personals, I am currently a student (2nd year college) hopefully majoring in astronomy, and live in El Cerrito, just a tad north of Berkeley.

I hope to learn a lot and enjoy my stay here.

Welcome to Apug!

Looks like you will fit right in--inexpensive MF, looking at LF, doing a bit of alternative process, and a cheapskate (apparantly)!

Welcome to the forum from Hawaii!! Great that you are near Berkeley, you can go to Looking Glass for supplies; make sure to tell them you are an APUG member.

Welcome! I, too, am a student, but majoring in Photograpy. I'm also a Californian living east of Sacramento. You'll find a lot of inspiration and information here at APUG, not to mention a lot of wonderful, dedicated photographers ready to share their knowledge. I've learned so much here. My 35mm is also Canon, and my MF is a Lubitel Universal 166 (Russian toy) TLR, so you'll get no gaping from me. I've just stared with 4x5 and couldn't have progressed thus far without the info I've received on this website.

Happy Shooting,
Karen
