Happy anniversary to APUG and Sean! I am still amazed after all these years (going on a youngish 8 in my case) about this place. All the crazy stuff, the knowledge, the "newbies" asking "how do I develop a roll of film?", the "oldies" discussing "Panatomic X was the bee's knees"... It really feels like a neighbourhood (and it does have some genuine characters too).

Here's to another ten years!

... I've met quite a few members in person, including Sean at the APUG conference a few years ago...

The conference was a great time for learnin', meetin' and drinkin'!

Many thanks to Sean, the mods and all of you who support this site by subscribing.

Cheers!

Happy Anniversary to APUG and many thanks to Sean for all his hard work to keep this site going (and growing) strong!! I have met a lot of really great and interesting people through APUG, and made some wonderful new friends. :D

Echoing everyone else. A huge thank you to Sean, for getting this going, and keeping the site civilized and on topic (most of the time - photographers are an unruly bunch.)
APUG is my community, and is always the first place I go with questions. Without APUG I'd be much further behind with my photographic skills, and could easily have given up in despair as resources and other film photographers evaporated from the local area.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And today APUG has surpassed 60.000 members. I remember looking earlier today and it was short of that number.

An accomplishment that's for sure, an essential international community for analogue photography.
Without APUG, I am not sure how I would have managed in many occasions.

Thank you, and happy anniversary.

Best

I guess I missed this post back in September, but I hope it's not too late for a round of congratulations!
Soon it will be a decade for me too. I remember being so happy to run into this web site many moons ago. Today it's very different, but still very much the same. Well done, Sean for keeping it alive, and for being consistent.

Only just seen this, congrats Sean for such a remarkable accomplishment. And thank you.

I remember when people were astonished to see 3,000 members. And now it's over 60,000. Incredible.

I can't believe how long ago 2002 was these days. I had never touched a computer in my life then, and it had already been a year since 9/11 and Dale Earnhardt being killed. Now I am an Adobe expert, and a computer whizboy if I have to be. Congrats.

65,000 now.... And I thought @ the beginning how is a site from NZ going to make its name in NA.? As usual I was WRONG. Not the first or last time. Always checked back because of from the quote from AA (my GOD) Congrats Sean & APUG.

Since coming here, I've looked on a map of New Zealand, the base of this site. A country no bigger than the outer banks of NC, with 2 cities probably no bigger than Charlotte NC--Christchurch and Auckland, I believe. Yet they seem to have a well-enlightened and orderly culture. I've tried to imagine what they don't have there in the way of decadence or extravagance, due to the isolation and lesser population of the US. It is probably a very good place to live in the quality-of-life category. I would think that crime and urban problems are non-existent. Probably a totally different life than the US in ways we cannot conceive. There's certainly no sleigh-bells at Christmas there, and their water goes down the drain backwards from here. But somebody there has managed to put together a pretty fair photographic learning site.
