Well, that's cheaper than a trip to see the Titanic on the Titan. I guess Don needs the money. But his autobiography "Unreasonable Behavior," is well worth a read. And he most certainly is one of the world's greatest photographers.

I thought a recent Met Office warning ("Unseasonable Wind") would make a good title for an autobiography.

I was faced with two demands once I clicked on to the link; one was to accept all cookies and the other was to sign up by giving my name etc to the website which as far as I know is not a legal demand in Europe where all sites have to give you the choice of accept or decline.

I had no desire to go any further

I love his post-war landscape pictures. Somehow he makes them look as moody, dark and foreboding as his earlier work. I guess his style is part of his DNA.

It sure seems to be a British style. I remember going to a photography exhibition at the V&A & seeing the work of Bill Brandt. Very dark by comparison with HCB, Robert Frank & others.

That's extortionate. Why do these people sell out for money?

Sir Don must be short of money…
With 100% certainty, no thanks.

It’s a shame, but I don’t imagine Patrick Sutherland made that much money altogether for his wonderful photographs in Wetland: Life in the Somerset Levels (1986, with writer Adam Nicholson). If anyone wants a feel for that part of Somerset (and for the 1970s), it’s a book I highly recommend.
