Hi everyone

I know there are several manufacturers that have produced 4x5 cameras with revolving backs, but are there any cameras with 8x10 revolving backs?

...or larger cameras. That's an excellent question, I am restoring an 8x10 and 5x7 Seneca and finally building a 5x7 field camera. I was just making plans for a revolving plate for the back of the 5x7. If it works I will be making one for the 8x10 Seneca.

When I went to Galveston between Katrina and Rita I was photographing and dropped the 5x7 back of my Kodak 2D. I was on the grass at the time and no damage was done. If I had been on cement or a hard floor I would have had some dents and a broken glass for sure. I think cameras should have revolving backs. I had a Toyo 45G while at Brooks that had one and got spoiled. Even my Calumet 440 or whatever it's called has one.

I was on the grass at the time.

Remember I was on the grass at the time and not on grass at the time.

What I mean is that I was standing on grass at the time I dropped the back.
