After a long hiatus doing other things, I've started shooting 8X10 again. I'm almost out of an old batch of Arista Ortho Litho film, and am looking for alternatives.
One possibility is Ultrafine dupe film. I've checked the product description here:
http://www.ultrafineonline.com/ulcotodufi.html
I notice it can be used with both red and amber safelights, so I'm wondering if it's blue sensitive only? I want ortho because I'm planning some work with a yellow filter. Also, can it be processed to yield a normal negative? I called their information line, but the rep I talked to seemed to think it was direct positive only. Also, for anyone who has used it, will it fit in standard film holders without trimming?
Also, has anyone done continuous tone work with Utrafine's Ortho Litho film? The rep didn't seem to think it would work very well with that.
Finally, the new APHS from Freestyle could be on option. I've seen some examples of that posted here. The film I'm almost out of is an older Ortho Litho emulsion that they don't sell anymore.
Thanks in advance.
