I ordered some Adox CHS Art 25 film (50 sheets) off Ebay and it is shipping from France. It cost almost $400 Canadian for it for me, so I want to make sure it arrives with no issues. What are the chances the French Airports use the new Xray scanners which well wreck film of any speed? Getting this film today is extremely rare and Im happy to have found some, but I want to make sure its usable and not trashed by Xrays.

Also just confirming that this film is indeed Efke PL25 film under the Adox name? Efke 25 is my favorite B&W film next to Panatomic X, Plus X, and Tri-X.

there was an ADOX 25ASA film for about one minute. it was a beautiful film but I'm not sure if they made it in 8x10.
I only used it in 4x5 at the time.

$400 Canadian is expensive, but not out of line for pricing for currently made films. Adox CHS II 100 is $200 US dollars for a box and that's only 25 sheets. Only difference is the CHS II is fresh stock, but its look is different then the 25 speed anyway. I just hope I dont have any issues from transport. There will be no way to get my money back if there is.

Im happy to get what is basically Efke 25 in 8x10 format. What it does for portraits is beautiful. The darker skin tones and the glow you get. Its one film I know will get you the 50s glamour shot look more easily. And in 8x10 which is what they used back then, Im curious as to the results. I have used Efke 25 in 120 and 4x5.

The discussion on airport scanners lately was specifically about scanners for carry-on-board luggage. That's an entirely different flow from cargo, including mail. For cargo, scanners have been used for years that are known to fog film. If your parcel will go through those scanners and how bad the effect will be, is a total guess and I don't think anyone will be able to give you any guarantees whatsoever.

I have 3 or 4 boxes of 10x8 Adox/EFKe Pl25, actually there's just a small sticker with the name it was befor Fotoimpex had brnaded boxes made. Just remember it's actually a 40/50 EI film in Daylight the 25 in the name is the Tungsten light speed. It was also available in ULF sizes, I have one box of Quarter plate Pl25 and some sheets of 5x4 as well, I've used the film for around 45 years.
