Ok, I have been shooting 4x5 for quite some time, and have been thinking about making the jump for a while. I recently acquired an 8x10 camera of unknown make (I will out up pics of it later). The bellows is good, and the frame is solid, all it needs is a bit of cosmetic work, A lens, A lens board, A camera back...

Does anyone know a good place/website to get these parts? My primary interest is getting the camera back, as a lens board should be simple enough for me to make, and I have a friend with the proper lens, but no 8x10 camera.

I have done searches on the internet, and all I really found were reducing backs. If possible I would like find a camera back for under $100 (or preferably much less).

8x10 is suddenly becoming very expensive indeed...

You might try putting a wanted ad in the for sale section on this site.
You might source a back on ebay with a little luck and a LOT of waiting probably.
If it is a common camera, I'm sure someone here probably has what you are looking for.
mpex.com and keh.com sometimes have used large format goodies.
Last resort is to make the back, it's not that hard to do.
good luck

Would it not be cheaper to buy a used 8x10 on ebay in working condition? and then use your current camera as a parts depot?

I've got an 8x10 back minus the ground glass, the frame the ground glass fits into, the ground glass retainers and springs. It looks home made. The outside dimensions are 12" each side. You're welcome to it!
