Hi guys

i have found a US supplier of the 828 & 620 film for a couple of my old cameras and i want to try them out

the supplier is in the US the products total is only $24 but they want $46 to ship it is this not a bit excessive for a small packet to go from the US to the UK

I cannot find a european supplier of this film can any one help

Thanks

Martyn

You can load 120 film onto 620 spools. Its pretty easy

$46 to ship a few rolls of films to UK is way too much. Ask the seller if he/she is willing to ship the film by USPS First Class International Mail. It will be around $10 - $15 dollars for a shipping weight of about 1 lb. You can ask the seller to provide you the custom form number and you can track the acceptance by USPS of the package. The seller needs to submit a custom form when mailing it. The number starts with two letters LC and ends with another two letters US and with 9 digits in between. I have sold a few small photographic stuff to people in UK. It is insane to make profit from the already too expensive postage cost to folks in UK.

If the seller insists to charge $46 he/she is trying to make a huge profit from shipping. Don't buy it. You can re-spool 120 to a 620 spool yourself. It is fairly easy. You just need to have an additional 620 spool.

i was going to post the link to the supplier not sure if i can?

They want $50 for UPS post

What is the cost if you double the order?

Steve

Even if i triple the order shipping stays the same thats a liberty

I'm surprised to learn that 828 is available from any source. That's very interesting.

Depending on the camera, you can also trim the plastic edge of the 120 spool and have it fit into the camera.

I have done this on my cheap Kodak Brownie Twin 20 box camera and it worked great, but it did not work on my Brownie Hawkeye or Argus Seventy five due to winder and spool hole compatability issues.

The 620 film is for my Kodak Brownie Flash 2 and the 828 is for my Kodak bantam Coloursnap

the company i found selling both the films is http://www.bhphotovideo.com

if the link is not allowed please delete

Here's another supplier of vintage film:

sales@centralcamera.com

I just attempted to order some B&W 828 film, and they're out of stock for 2-4 weeks. However they still have Portra 160. Their website says they ship via USPS to Europe, and that can't be too expensive. Also, orders over $100 ship free (not sure if that includes Europe).

They are also $5 more per film but i suppose against $50 shipping it may be better

What company is the source for 828 film. I would love to use my old Kodak folding camera.

Got a reply from central camera shipping to the uk is $20 much more reasonable

Rubusto,

Great! Aren't you glad you asked around.

Steve

Went out yesterday and picked up a Kodak Duaflex from a Boot fair for £5 when i opened it , it still had an old roll of exposed 620 in it, i wonder whats on it and how old it may be see pictures very intresting:smile:

As others probably said this is way to much. US Postal Service Small Flat Rate International Box is about 13.00 to the UK, at least that was what www.usps.gov said....

But many sellers refuse to use that or charge extra 25$ for international shipping. I have been trying to buy some Calumet lens boards from eBay but 40$ for shipping a 15$ lens board is bit too much. Fortunately not all sellers are like that.

Have been running into that too.
Looks like some sellers are trying to make additional money through charging lots for postage and handling fees. If you then see the package and what it says it did cost to get it sent, they were indeed using the low rate service.

Best thing is to avoid these sellers unless you want the stuff so bad that you can resist helping scammers get more money.
One of the bad things however is that you don't know whether they are just using expensive shipping (happens too) or are scammers until you hold the thing in your hands.
