6x7 negs in a 4x5 carrier?

I'm finding my 6x7 negs to be difficult to work with due to popping on exposures exceeding 30 seconds or so. As I have a 4x5 glass carrier(not a 6x7 glass carrier) I was thinking about giving it a try with the 6x7's. If I dont make a mask am I going to have problems with flare or others things I am not aware of?

Also, Is there a glass 6x7 carrier made for the Omega d6?
