As a lightweight add-on to my 4x5 and 8x10 cameras is just bought the 3D-printed Sasquatch 6x17 camera which mimicks a Linhof Technorama at reduced weight and cost.

Is there anything I should know or bear in mind before starting off shooting?

I read that the 90mm lens on 6x17 corresponds to the horizontal view angle of a 14 mm lens on 35 mm film. So I intend to use my Z6 with 14-30/4 lens for framing, reference shots and light metering.

Do you have any further suggestions or thoughts?

I intend to contact print the developed B+W film negatives afterwards.

Ideally you need a Centre ND filter with a 90mm lens, you will need to dodge the horizontal edges. I use a 75mm lens on my own 6x17 camera, at r and was lucky to find two NIB Hoya centre filters a few years ago, at good prices.

Leave the Nikon at home. Instead load Viewfinder on your phone. Your phone will work best with a built in wideangle lens. Viewfinder lets you set format and lens and see exactly what the camera does. If you have a cold shoe on your camera mount the phone horizontally with it’s lens over the camera lens. Works great with my CCB 6x17 with 90 mm Super Angulon. The app also has a lightmeter which I ignore, But I do use rhe feature that lets me take a photo of what the app sees on my phonne. This gives me a good reference photo to confirm that the app/ phone/camera are all in synch.

Thanks so very much @Shaps for mentioning the Film Photography Viewfinder app. It is just what I've wanted for ages in trying to visualize the view from my 5x7 pinhole cameras (I have plans to make a home made one at a different focal length). The Exposure meter part is also useful to me for displaying the EV reading, I used to use the Pinhole app by Mikael Adam which displayed EV but that is no longer available in up to date Android phones.

Glad you like the app. When I was into pinhole cameras I used Pinhole Assist which was good for figuring out reciprosity.

The Viewfinder app I find excellent. Use it for pre visualizing 4 x 10 and 5 x 12 with a variety of lens options.
