I had this out yesterday making some images of the '39 pickiup and photographed the camera in order to offer it here.

The 2D is complete and in very lovely original shape. Bellows are soft and supple and do not leak. Extension and tripod block are present.

If you pay the extra shipping I'll include the original Kodak Hardboard case that is the reason the camera has survived 80 years with only a few blemishes. I'll make an educated guess that it was used 3 - 5 years by someone and put away for 75.

The lens is a nameless (OK, I'm going to guess either Ross or Beck) 11" Aplanat in a perfect working Ilex shutter. Many of these early brassies lost their original barrels and engraving when they got installed in shutters in the 1920's. It is a fine addition and perfectly matched to this camera. Lens board is not original but I will include 1 original lens board with the camera also. Also includes 3 film holders. Get some film, and get to work.

5X7 contact prints made with this camera will be jewel like! Aplanat's have come into their own as some of the finest subtle portrait makers conceivable. Pickup truck and Tripod are NOT included. $465 + shipping

Here are the images made that day with the camera / lens you see in the pictures.

5X7ForSalePics_1s.jpg

I only got these 3 done as the wind was rather fierce and it began to rain. A carload of young lads from Czech Republic saw me working and stopped to ask about the truck and the camera. How old? Does it still work? I think they thought we 3 were a matched set. Old truck, old camera, old photog

The real surprise considering the stiff breeze is the picture above. I took off the front group and used just the rear lens alone like a convertible. About 20" focus f32 1/2 for this one. I didn't expect anything as the wind was battering the camera. Not too bad!

Hope someone sees the value of the outfit. If not I'll think about seperating. Camera alone, lens alone, etc.

Gonna help Jim out here. I have a 5x7 2D and love the camera so much I bought an 8x10. Not only does it have character it is built really well. No movements except up and down on the front but I have not been limited. The back has all the movements I have ever needed.

I see he has the rear extension rail. Super rare part that I have seen go for some big cash on the bay. Don't know squat about the lens but I have bought from Jim before. His prices are more than reasonable.

I got a nice offer and seperated the pieces out. Lens is SOLD. Film holders SOLD. Tripod block is SOLD. Camera and bed extension are left. I will take $99 for the bed extension alone, or $179 for the camera with the extension.
