4x5 Ilford films not available in Spain

I normally buy consumers in some pro photo stores in Barcelona.

I'm very interested in Ilford FP4+ and HP5+ in 4x5 format but in the shelves there's only in 9x12 cms., although in other brands, there are in both dimensions (4x5 and 9x12).

I know that in other countries in Europe have Ilford films in 4x5 format.

Any of you know which can be the reason of this?

Traditionally, 9 x 12 cm sheet film was more common in Europe than 4x5 in. Nowadays I'd say 4x5 is more common world wide, than 9 x 12. I might be wrong though.

Ask your store to get 4x5 for you, or contact Ilford in Spain directly. If you find it impossible to buy locally, use the internet. www.fotoimpex.de will certainly deliver to Spain. Good luck!

I think the camera store in Madrid had FP4+ in 4x5 when I was there last. I forget the name of the place - it's near el Rastro.

This afternoon I have asked for this sheets in FotoOcasion (which I guess is the store near El Rastro that BradS talked about), and they told me that, yes, they have some stock.

Try Fotocasion Madrid. I asked my friend to buy Forte paper from there. They are distributors of Ilford also. In their website, they only have paper from Ilford. May be you should call them first and ask if they have Ilford film in 4x5. May be they haven't updated their website and they actually have it in stock. If they don't, well, they distribute quite a wide range of marcas, may be you can find what you need there, still.

ILFORD Photo products in Spain & Elsewhere

Dear All,

Our distributor in Spain is DUGOPA SA in Madrid, they are excellent and hold very good stocks of our product: If you are having difficulty finding any ILFORD Photo products its usually best to contact our distributor direct ( all our country distributors contact details are on our website ) and they can usually advise you where to buy in that country......if you go to a retailer that holds an account with our distributor, but they do not have the product you need, they should be able to get any specialist product you want in a day or two from that distributor. Should the country distributor not have it in stock, it can be factory ordered, 95% of items are from stock ( but some do have MOQ's - minimum order quantities ) special manufacture is normally less than a week, and most European distributors get factory deliveries once a week or once per fortnight.
