Hey, just a simple question: I recently obtained a box of filters and flash attachments and found several 48 mm filters and a hood. Which system would these be for? I have been searching with no luck so far. Thanks!
IIRC the Canon 50mm f/1.4 LTM takes 48mm filters.
Canon also used a unique filter diameter for their 50mm ƒ/1.8 LTM lens (the black mid-1960s version): 40mm. They could have easily used 40.5mm, common on many German and Soviet lenses. Could it have been to sell 40mm and 48mm filters? As mentioned, for some reason Canon used it quite a bit. That seems odd, but I've always thought that 49mm and 52mm were odd. Why not 50mm?
