90 lppm on an 11X14 is attractive to me. Mostly it's those velvet lined leather caps with the word Schneider pressed in gold that I can't resist.

Just received it today. It's massive, 7" tall and 5 1/4" wide. I thought my 42cm Heliar was big. My current Kodak 2D won't be able to handle it because it needs a 7" board. I might have to look for a bigger and stronger studio camera to make this lens comfortable. Otherwise it will be a display piece. My Christmas gift to myself on an impulse. Absolutely useless and beautiful object at this moment.

Thankfully, I don't have a camera that takes larger than Sinar-sized lensboards, so that keeps things under control.

Hugo, I have a giant Ansco potrait studio camera in kit form with what I believe is a brand new bellows if you're interested. It takes 9X9 inch lens boards. Made to hold up massive lenses. Contact me if you're interested. When completed it would look almost identical to the Kodak 9a in the picture attached. No stand.

For the future when the eBay auction link no longer functions, the lens is labeled "Aero-Xenotar 1:4.5/460". The seller says that it is a unused protoype. From the photos, the front element is deeply recessed in the barrel, so the coverage probably isn't ULF. The barrel is going to limit the angle of acceptance of light rays. So I guess it was designed as a long & fast lens for merely LF aerial photography.

What size is that studio camera with 9" board? I have 8x10" portrait camera already, so I am thinking of a 11x14 or 14x17 for this lens just for portraiture. I have acquired so many barrel lenses lately, maybe it's an addiction, let me term it JG addiction.

I will use this lens for portrait if I ever use it. Its coverage will probably be OK for that purpose. But thanks for the reminder.
