A few years back I tackled my one and only 3A for another photographer/owner. The curtain was shot and he had me make a new curtain for it. I documented the tear down and wrote an article on how to do the servicing and posted it on Graflex.org. The web site that was hosting the associated photos went pay only so the photos no longer were there leaving only some of the instructions. Scroll forward several months, I sat down tonight and created a PDF complete with photos and detailed instructions on how to disassemble the camera and remove the shutter curtain.
It is now hosted on http://www.southbristolviews.com/ under the Graflex Manuals link. Lots of good info there also.
The 3A info only: http://www.southbristolviews.com/pics/Graphic/manual-pdf/3A Graflex Servicing.pdf

The camera body is covered in XXX Moroccan leather.
The hardware is silver plated brass on cameras made from 1907 through 1922, after that it is chemical toned or painted hardware.
The serial number is at the rear left edge of the camera bed and can be used to approximate the age/year of manufacture.
