Just bought a Hewes 35mm reel. Of course it doesn't fit in the 35mm developing tank that I have. What are my options for jobo or other tanks that will work with the 3.75 inch diameter Hewes reel? Thanks.....

That should fit the extra large diameter tanks like the Nikor (that takes 220 reels, and if tall enough the 4x5 cage).

Are these some special Hewes 35mm stainless steel reel? Mine are 84 mm in diameter and fit my LPL tank with 87 mm diameter.
They are great btw! Absolutely fool proof to load.

Perhaps the OP has a more compact tank than the standard ones? But yes, I believe Hewes made reels to fit the 4 1/4" diameter Nikor tanks (mine is sized for two 220 reels, with heavy wire like a standard size 120).

But yes, reading back, if the reel is 3 3/4" (~84mm) it should fit a tank with 87mm I.D.

Hello Pink Pony. The reel I have measures about 97mm in diameter. So I would need at least a 100mm tank. Thanks.

Hello Donald Qualls. The reel measures 3.75 inches in diameter, that comes out to about 96mm. I am looking for a Nikor tanks. Thanks much.....

Might make more sense to find someone with the Nikor tank to buy that Hewes reel and find one for yourself that fits a standard tank.

This was my thought. I've picked up lots of regular-size Hewes reels just thrown into yard-sale "darkroom junk" lots; my one and only Nikor 4x5 tank took a lot of searching for something complete and affordable.

I've got the Nikor tank and an pair of heavy-wire 220 reels, but never found a 4x5 cage I could afford -- and even if I were willing to pay $170-ish plus shipping, I'm not certain the new-made Chinese copies would fit. Besides, I've now got a Yankee Agitank, holds 12, and since I'm running replenished now, I don't care that I need 55 ounces of solution for even a single (though I'd actually do that in a tray).
