35mm slr into a panoramic,anyone got plans?

Is it possible to convert a 1970's slr into a panoramic camera? I'm sure that I have seen it done somewhere in the past. Has anyone done this successfully?

Andy Davidhazy at RIT has converted 35mm SLR's into all kinds of wierd camera - panaramic, peripheral, slit camers (similar to what is used at race tracks) etc.
