I don't know if sharpness is all that important, especially knowing what it can reveal on human skin. Some of the best (or most historically recognized) photographs ever made were not sharp. But I am open-minded about it.

Well that's an issue, if you want M42 or Nikon F lens, Pentax, Fuji, Zeiss, Leica, Contex and Nikon were all sharp lens, as 35mm was such a small negative compared to 8 X10 which was still a common format for commercial work when the Nikon F was released in 1959. There were a few soft focus lens made in 35mm for a soft look for portiurates, not sure if Nikon made one or not. Off beat idea, Arugs C3, with 100mm Cintar 3 element lens shot wide open.

Have any K-mount lenses stood out to anyone when shooting Tri-X, such as one of the three FA Limited primes from Pentax?
