I have the opportunity to buy a 300 f5.6 Fuji-CM W at a very reasonable price. Specifications I can find show this to cover 8x10, downside it is quite a large lens (Copal C/Copal3) with 77mm filter. Does an APUG'er have any practical experience with this lens?

TIA - Mike

Yeah, fog can be fun, but clear is better for lens tests.

I have 2 of their CM-W lenses which I use for 4x5 work. They are very good with respect to coverage, clarity and coatings. If the 300 is anything like the 125 or 180, you will have an excellent lens for 8x10.

Have to agree with Ralph, I have the older 300mm f5.6 Symmar-S (105mm filters as well) on an old B&J 8x10 and it is quite a lens. Those dinky little 77mm filters will be a lot less expensive and easier to find.
