It is on the high side, IMO, vs. B&H who give "free" shipping (TANSTAAFL, it's actually priced in, of course) for orders above $50. Freestyle is doing it fairly -- the more your order weighs, the more shipping they charge. However, their prices are generally the same as B&H, who still manage to find enough margin to ship for no extra charge. And it's hard to argue overhead; B&H is in New York City, some of the highest rent, property values, and property taxes in North America -- probably costs a good bit more just to keep the lights on than in California.

B&H does a huge international business. Apparently they do over $1 billion annually, but this figure has never been made public.

Thanks for sharing. Good to read something positive about Foma 400 every now and then. I only shoot it in 120 (it's awesome) but the first couple of pictures in the review you linked make me want to try it in 35mm. Wonder how it'll look in Fomadon Excel or Xtol.

I have a few samples of it in XTOL here, mostly in 35mm. Some in that gallery are in HC or Rodinal and they are obviously so.
I much prefer it in XTOL than with Ilfotec HC or Rodinal

These look great, thanks for sharing.

I'd respectfully submit that this is purely speculation. Rents in California aren't cheap either.

"The B&H Superstore, store warehouse, and corporate offices will remain in NYC with over 1,500 employees working in those locations." This move affected only the fulfillment center, apparently. They're still paying either rent or property tax in NYC for a lot of square feet (the Superstore isn't small, and the warehouse is probably larger).

Oh man, time to stock up on Fomapan 400 in 100' rolls. Comes out to about $2.28 a 36 exp roll

Yep, it's what, about $38 a can with the discount? The roll I have in my bulk loader at present was $51 -- which just made free shipping from B&H. With the 25% off, but Freestyle's shipping charge, you should just about beat that.
