Mike, check out this lens on KEH.com and take that price as a maximum. They have a pretty realistic evaluation based on the equipment condition. I love 24mm. I have this lens in M42, Canon FD and Nikon mounts. good luck

I bought a non-AI ver. in mint minus with box, case, caps, receipt, manual for $130 on ebay 7,8 years ago. It's an amazing lens.
I also think that filter is $30 or so.

Do check for a realistic price. It's a good lens, very good in fact. I use mine a lot. Don't let it get by you if you can get it at a fair price.

The local camera shop was selling this lens in quite good condition for $90. I didn't buy it - I have no need for it - but I think that a knowledgeable dealer will want more than that. It's a little difficult to sell an AI lens in a shop that does mostly digital stuff.

I was given the lens for a test drive.Seems like a nice piece of glass but the guy wants $300.00 for it!!
Guess I'll have to shop around a bit.

Yeah, too much. Find one at KEH for a lot less, less than $200 for something in EX condition. BGN grade stuff is plenty good for a user.

If you are looking for one of these, then consider the later versions which came out from 1977 onwards.

1977 onwards serial number 525001-

08/81 onwards serial number 700001-

The earlier versions had nine elements in 7 groups, these have 9 elements in 9 groups. Apparently the difference after the change, was that the vignetting was less with these later versions.

All of the 24mm Nikkor lenses have floating elements, which is possibly the main reason they are so good close-up.

Source:- Nikon Compendium by Hillebrand and Hauschild, first English edition 1993.

The 24mm Nikkors seem to be on the rise price wise, even in these financially constrained times.
