21st century and no notch codes

Just loaded some sheets of 13x18cm Tasma FN-64, bought fresh from the Russia. Everything looked fine at first, robust but OK box, film is inside black bags instead of wrapped in the paper. Improvement indeed.
But gosh, really, 21st century and there are no notch codes on the film. Just like the same soviet film from the 80's The old film was fortunately somewhat curled towards emulsion, will see how the fresh one works out.

I thought Tasma was in limbo? Making some chemicals but no film? any clue as to when your film was actually made?

Speaking Tasma, when can I, someone outside of that whole area, get some Tasma or ORWO film?

Charles, no idea about actual manufacture date, expiration date is 09/2010.

Athiril, I have some Orwo NP20 in 135 and 9x12cm and NP15 in 135 that I can share. Expired ~87-90.

And I managed to load both sheets backwards. Just need to practice feeling surfaces more. The first result is attached. Not that bad for thru-the-base.

You may already know this, but the emulsion side is sticky if you touch it with lightly moistened fingers (obviously at the corner). Others would lick their lips and try the corner. Whichever side sticks, it's the emulsion side. Works nicely with paper too, I once had to do this with matte paper. Both sides looked the same under a dim safelight.

I was under the impression both Tasma and ORWO still make film?

Emulsion curls in. It's not usually too hard to detect the curl and that will tell you where the emulsion is.
