I was given a 210mm (mamiya-sekor 210mm lens) that I am having trouble focusing. When you trun the focusing ring it turns freely and has no effect.

Is it worth fiixng and does anyone have a name or website for someone who can?

Thanks

This will almost certainly be a case of one broken pin linking the aperture ring to the aperture mechanism. If the lens is otherwise in good condition, it's definitely worth fixing. Where are you located? If in the US, others can advise you better where to send it (I'm in UK).

Regards,

David

In New York, Nippon Camera Service would be the most likely place.

I am located in Stuttgart, Germany. I can use either a German or USA repair facility.

UK is closer than US!

Mamiya agents are Johnsons Photopia:

http://www.johnsons-photopia.co.uk/contact.htm

My favorite independent repairers (although I know several good ones) are Newton Ellis & Co in Liverpool:

http://www.camerashop.btinternet.co.uk/

Hope this is some help!

Regards (or as you're in Stuttgart - Grüß Gottle!),

David

PS: In my previous reply, I of course meant focusing ring/mechanism instead of aperture ring/mechanism. The repairman recommendations still apply!
