Dear Apug Members,

I have an option to trade some rb67 backs for this interesting looking large format lens for 4x5
Was curious if any members out there had first hand experience it looks on the surface like a cross between a 210 Schneider and a 210 Fuji....is it also a plasmat?

Would be interested in specs, angle of view and image circle, etc, any photos take with this would be a plus!

It looks in good condition but I don’t think this lens is made any more.....What say you?

Many Thanks!

Harlequin

Must be actually a f/6.3 lens.

Sharp, contrasty. Not a plasmat. Four elements, air-spaced. Image circle is 308mm -- almost enough for 8x10.

It came with a metal lens shade...use it for great contrast.

Can often be found for under $250. A sweet lens.

Made by Kowa in Japan marketed as "Computar"

Sweet series of lenses. Used to have the 300mm Kowa in a barrel

Symmetrigons are different from the f/9 Kowa Graphic or their Computar equivalent : less coverage, larger max aperture.

hi harlequin
i have a 150 computar symtrigon, if the 210 is anything like that, grab it, its a beautiful lens --

An American gent designed the lens and had it produced in Japan. I use mine for 5x7.

at 210mm, 4 elements and ~300mm coverage, does that make it similiar to a old style angulon?

I have heard that it was suppose to be like a the old Commercil Ektars, but it is its own lens.
