What size of a dark cloth do you recommend for a 20x24 camera?

Thanks,

Kev

Yeah Kevin. Figuring the guy will not be taking the camera in the field and stuff...it really does not matter if the darkcloth is big and bulky. 8x10 seems like a good size.

Damn thats a large darkcloth!

It is almost 8 ft around the ground glass, either velcro or elastic or both...so you have a tube 8 ft around at one end and it could taper to the viewing end with the ability to velcro the tube at the bottom the whole distance?

for really windy days a reflex viewer would be a nice touch.. :D :D :D

Yeah, but Dave, even without that reflex finder you guys have an awful lot of weight to carry.:D

I had a 20x24, it takes a bit of cloth to cover a monster f this size, mine was mounted on a wheeled cart to move it into place! I think 8x10 FOOT would be minimum to have a good usable dark cloth for this sized camera...

LOL

No, I make them. I had a request to make one for a 20x24 camera and I wanted to know what size would be needed.

Everyone thank you again for all the input! Greatly appreciated!

I know someone who has a Lotus 20x24" on a wheeled cart, but he says he's supported it in the field using a Black and Decker Workmate portable work bench.

True, True, Rich. Thats why if the reflex goes along the motor drive usually has to remain behind, :D

I have considered mounting my 20X24 to the front of a three wheel ATV. Just pull the ATV behind the SUV as far as the terrain will allow, and then when it gets too rough for the SUV, roar off into the remote wilderness area with the 20X24" equipped ATV.

That would be one great portable ULF piece of equipment.

Sandy,
That is not at all a far fetched idea, especially here in the southwest with millions of acres of BLM land. ATV vehicles are much more usable vs.even a good jeep in a lot of situations. Tow the ATV to the campsite area or work area and off you go....Dry narrow riverbeds etc and tight canyon and steep elevations are great with ATV s. One with independent suspension is recommended also good racks and storage...we just gotta do that.
