I like the idea of sending a print with the notion of your return print being somewhat like a blind date. That way we could technicallty print different images etc. I have 12 on one roll, which could be multiplied depending on just how many of us there are. I guess I would want some sort of count of people trading to get an idea about how many prints etc. Sending overseas should not be an issue if it is not a vast number of images, right?

I'd be happy to help organise this exchange as I know Art already looks after the blind exchange, so its not fair to put more work on him.

Fine by me, I was vaguely organising it but you've volunteered. Congratulations  Art only did last year's one because we had um... 3 or 4 people in it total due to my lack of "hey! let's do a print exchange!" until about the day before WTCD.

so how many of us are there?

So can we get some sort of count of how many of us are swapping prints for the big day? I am just curious.

I think the following have expressed an interest to do this exchange:

Akki14
gr82bart
vaughn
semeuse
msdemanche
thefizz

Hopefully we'll get a few more so depending on numbers, how about we all send a print to two people and receive two prints but from other people? Kind of like the blind exchange?

I don't mind sending more or just one so what do you think?

Peter

I'm interested in doing it as well. My darkroom is almost up and running -- how much time would we have after the day to do the exchange? End of November?

So there are 7 of us, correct? Do we all have snail mail addresses for the prints? This is exciting considering many of you are outside the US.

Having received Art & Heather's blessing:smile:, may I suggest the following:

Sign up deadline is Wednesday 22nd. This will give some more people the opportunity to sign up if they don’t see this thread till a few days after WTCD but who may have been out shooting with their camera on the 18th.

Participants to pm me their real name and postal address and I’ll send back the details of who you will send your prints to. Similar to the blind exchange but with two prints to send. You can send different prints to your two recipients.

Obviously you must use a toy camera and make traditional prints.

Send your two prints by the end of November.

As this is an international forum, you could end up sending your prints anywhere.

Am I forgetting anything Art?

Peter

I'm thinking of making my prints as postcards...is that cool?

Vaughn

I was thinking I would let the image dictate size, but do we all want to do the same size? I would not want to do anything larger than say 8X10.

Oh also, are we all talking black and white. I have a color lab at my university but do not do much color printing.

Maybe a contact print onto a postcard?

I was thinking of a strip of two or three negs contact-printed on a post card...but we'll see! All depends on what ends up on the roll! Might end up being a 7x7 image printed on an 8x10 piece of paper, or even a 2x2 (or whatever size those little Diana camera negs are) platinum/palladium print.

I really think that I will enlarge mine slightly and it could well be more than one image depending how the film advances etc.

I'd be happy with anything between a postcard-sized print up to an 8x10.

We like the quirkiness of our toy cameras, why dictate final print size? We're a pretty small group, I think almost anything would be acceptable...I have ideas for contact prints, postcard prints, and regular enlarged prints. But I won't know what I'll do until I have the negs in hand.

Lets go with postcard size up to 8x10. By all means if someone wants to print bigger they can as its their expence posting it. I won't mind receiving a big or small print.

B&W or colour should be fine. I have some RA4 chemisrty & colour paper on order so this exchange might get me wet printing colour again

Peter

all sounds interesting to me - my Falcon uses 127, so b&w it is from here (it's Efke or it's nothing )

Here's an update of who's taking part:

Akki14
gr82bart
vaughn
semeuse
msdemanche
thefizz
Fintan
mouseontheloose
Markok765
rorye

Have fun tomorrow.

I didn't realize I shrunk from a moose to a mouse.... ;-)
