2006 View Camera Conference

The 2006 View Camera Conference will be in Rockford, IL June 9-11 at the Best Western Clocktower Resort. We will try and arrange a group field trip to the Ill. State RR Museum on Thursday the 8th. By bus the Clocktower is 1 hour from O'Hare but you can drive as well. We may try and arrange some studio sessions as well on Thursday sometime - either at the Clocktower or in Chicago at a studio. Rooms will be approx 99/night for the three nights. Call ahead to make your reservations.

We are looking for seminar ideas so feel free to make suggestions.

They start Friday afternoon and run through Sunday aftrnoon. There is a trade show with new and used equipment and a series of panels/seminars on such topics as the art and craft of black and white, landscape photography. selecting equipment, architectural photography, digital output,making the photographic book, etc. This year I will do a session for beginners on understanding camera movements.

The July 2005 issue of View Camera has a two page spread on the May 2005 conference.

So, I'm guessing you mean View Camera magazine? I'm sorry but as a newbie I had no clue as to who you were and that the View Camera conference had anything to do with View Camera magazine. I've googled around and find you are the publisher. I doubt I'm the only newbie who was left clueless by your announcement. I'll keep a look out for further information.

Having attended the recent one in Springfield, MA last May, I can attest that they are a lot of fun and the 'sessions' run the gamut from worhwhile to really valuable depending on your interests. I think it's only fair that the midwest will get to have one since the last two (I think) were on the east and west coasts, but I do hope another one will come east again before too long.
