I picked these up over the past couple years whilst having rose-colored romanticized visions of wonderful/great/overly superfluous film-shooting adventures dancing before me. As it worked out, I've been far too busy to fulfill these dreams, and have decided to try to re-home these beautiful creatures with one or two film-lovers (or similarly deluded individuals) who can give them the attention they deserve.

These two cameras are not the spotless specimens you see listed for thousands of dollars. They have dings; They have dust; Their meters don't work (or I don't know how to use them)... and they both probably need a CLA from the Rolleiflex master of your choosing like Krikor, Fleenor, Hansen, or someone else.

-------------

The 2.8 was my latest find. It has a (N)ever-ready case that needs to be restitched, and the taking lens has some dings in it that are hard to photograph but I'll try for anyone interested enough to put me through the effort. There's also some dust in the mirror chamber that I didn't bother to get at, because it requires tools and time that I don't have. I'll let a professional or a crazy person do that.

The shutter is freely moving and appears to be timed reasonably right, though the camera doesn't seem to like to do this well while it's in the case. There's no oil or stickiness on the aperture blades, and they move freely throughout their range. There's no fungus in either lens, though the back elements could use a cleaning.

The original Burleigh-Brooks registration/warranty card is taped to the top of the never-ready case, showing an original purchase date of June 12, 1959 here in Little Rock. According to the SN records I found, this was the 1000th unit of the 2.8E range.

I have not film tested this one simply due to lack of time. I have no doubts though that it'll perform well if you use a meter or an app to get the settings right (or you're just that good!). I'll include two rolls of 120 film with this camera for you to try it out. Portra 400 (x1), and Tmax 400 (x1) (both exp 3/2016)

Rolleiflex 3.5F

s/n 2828072

I'm not entirely sure if this is a 3.5F3 or a 3.5F4. There's some conflicting information out there about it.

The optics on this one are in great shape. There's only 1 small spot on the objective element of the taking lens that I can see. The leatherette has some dirt that has accumulated around the edges, and the corners of the front faceplate have gotten marred over the years, with loss of paint and dings to match.

The viewfinder is reasonably clear. I was able to dust this one out at one point. I think there might be some de-silvering on the mirror, but it's been a while since I looked at it. The focusing hood on this one is removable, so it can be used for a prism if you prefer.

The shutter works well, and the aperture blades are freely moving and have nothing keeping them from doing their job. The shutter button sticks at times (maybe all of them?), so if you don't pull it out before you wind to the next shot, it'll automatically fire for you. Also, the little switch to the upper left of the faceplate moves freely (flash switch??) as if it's lost it's connection with whatever it works with below.

I have run film through this one. You can find a couple (bad) scans here: http://www.dropbox.com/sh/ekljwrqk0swhlk2/AAAr3SIDXQClJoc2PZNGvWKFa?dl=0 [please don't judge my garage too harshly!]

Two rolls of Tmax 400 come with this one as well, to get you started (exp 3/2016)
