I have a good condition 2 1/4 X 3 1/4 Speed Graphic. Mint condition actually. I just dug it out of the closet to at it again and thought "What the heck, Why not put some film in it and re-live the feel of the "press" camera.

That leads to the question of film. Is there any 2 1/4 X 3 1/4 out there anywhere?

I just posted this under B&W Film, then thought this might be a better place for the question.

I think B&H carries it as well. The other option is a roll film holder and 120 film.

Yes, Freestyle and B&H are likely to have HP5+, Efke/Adox PL100, and Efke/Adox PL25, and there was recently a special order for FP4+. The official deadline has passed for pre-orders, but maybe they are making more than was pre-ordered. You might contact The View Camera Store (click on the "Sponsors" tab, and you can find them in the list) to see if it is possible to order more.

The Arista.EDU Ultra 200 is a good choice. It's fast enough so that you can use the camera as intended, that is, hand held. It is also quite a nice film, and fast enough so that you can use an reasonably small electronic flash if necessary. The EFKE PL100 is also ok, in terms of speed, but I'd skip the PL25 unless I wanted to mount the thing on a tripod. It's too slow for hand held work in any but the most favorable light.

Threads merged. Everyone sees all new threads pretty much in the "new posts" view, so there is no need to cross post in different forums. Since this is more about film availability than collecting old Graphics, it makes more sense to put it here than in the "antiques and collecting" forum.

Thanks. It appears to be more available than I thought it would be. Four of the holders I have are still loaded with some Tri-X about 10 years old. That will be good to start with and make all the mistakes. Then I can get some fresh film and not mess as much of it up.

If you're interested in FP4+, I'd suggest you call The View Camera Store now. I fear there were not quite enough pre-orders, and that a few more boxes ordered will get the film cut. This option might not be available when you are ready to shoot.

They probably make it in both sizes, so be sure of what you're getting. 2.25x3.25" and 6.5x9cm films are not interchangeable. The holders have the same external dimensions, so they will fit the same cameras, but film is not interchangeable between the two types of filmholders.

Note to self: Read post more carefully!

Of course you need to buy the film that is labeled 2.25 x 3.25, not 6.5x9, David is, of course, right. It's still not exactly 2.25 by 3.25, but it's close enough to work quite well.

I also have a full box of metal film holder adapters for glass plate holders that are 2.5 x 3.5, I picked up to fix a few of my older units. Not much use...

Another note to self: Read box more carefully, too.
