Don't know how familiar the Kodak Refex II is to you, but it was a fascination camera capable of excellent results if you could stand some typical Kodak peculiarities like 620 film. It had a view lens setup that was years ahead of it's time with a fresnel lens built in. Very good lenses, too.

I got all worked up because I saw one on shopgoodwill auction site for $15 (when I looked).

I mention it because I had one and loved it a long time ago--an argument that carries absolutely no weight with my spousal unit.

Don't know it but 620 film would be a problem as you would either have to respool 120 or pay over the odds for film which has already been respooled (if you can find it). On auction sites now you can pick up TLR's quite cheaply such as Yashica's, Ricoh's etc and these take 120 film which is easy to find. Maybe you should speak nicely to your spouse when your next birthday approaches?

620 rework options

I have heard - not tried- that there are cameras with bumps on the sides of the stanmped metal spool chamber to make sure that only 620 spools would fit. If you squash these bumps down, then 120 is alleged to fit them.

The Kodak Reflex II is a very good camera and 15 bucks is a steal. In proper working order, these things can turn out some very fine photos.

Check out the prices that these go for on fleabay. Pick it up if for no other reason than to clear a profit. Lessee, $15 plus shipping would net about $25. If spousal unit whines about that amount, you have bigger problems than suffering from bouts of nostalgia

Amen. There is a reason I am deeevorced.

If you are worried about the spousal equivalent qualrarling about 25 bucks for your hobby...

a deeevorvce lawyer costs so much more.
