1963 Photo-Service Catalog from Paris, France.

Interesting 1963 catalog from Photo-Service, 68 Rue D'Hauteville, Paris I found in a local flea market. It has the price sheet included along with several updates to the catalog and pamphlets from M&B of England and Novaflex (in Dutch?).

An interesting time capsule and, perhaps, a good reference for available cameras and accessories of that time period.

Nice! Not as focused on photography but yesterday I visited my aunt and she showed me a Parisian news paper dating from 1926. I noticed an advertisement for one of Jules Richard’s stereo cameras “The Glyphoscope”.

A westgerman manufacturer, who started the business with a mirrorbox (thus the name). Then they changed to macro-bellows and and rapid-focus devices and lenses.

Is the newspaper a copy of L' Illustration, by chance?
I have a few copies of my own, and need to retrieve them and see if there are any photo-related ads.
That publication was the largest in the world at one time, with huge state-of-the-art printing equipment.

Yes, Novoflex. Not paying attention to the obvious.

This part of the country is interesting. Currently, a lot of estates of retired Government and high-ranking Military from the 1940’s thru the 1980’s are making their way to the public through the antique and estate sale route.

My proximity to Northern Virginia and Washington DC no doubt plays an important role in my finding such artifacts as these.

Yes, L’illustration - 29 Mai 1926. There is a few pages about post-WW1 events such as the crowning of the new Shae of Iran. The advertisings are beautiful, a real pleasure for the eyes. Next time I visit my aunt, I’ll take pictures of the whole thing and PM you a PDF.

I wish I could scan all 300 pages of the Photo-Service Catalog, but it has a brittle spine and I don't wish to destroy it. Perhaps I will get around to building a book scanner some time; I have always wanted one to scan my antique cinema books and documents...

May and Baker is correct. The photo department was reorganised in the early 1980s, becoming Champion and moving from Dagenham to Brentwood in Essex. Later when M&B disappeared the complete Champion set up was sold off to a Malaysian outfit.
