Just for fun, I tried some paper that was found a few years ago in my father-in-law's workbench, Ansco Indiatone (code 423) in Kashmire white. The stuff went belly up in May of 1947, according to the label.
The attached image is one taken with a made lens (objective lens from a 7x50 pair of binoculars) on an Ansco 5x7 studio camera. The negative was contact printed- 30 seconds at f4. Slow stuff.
Sure do wish I had a pile of this stuff, but what are you going to do...
