Thanks. I just read this morning about the 1930 advice to use a “single reducer” developer instead of “metal-hydroqinine” combination. In this paper it shows you get about a third stop more speed with the MQ developer, but if you add bromide you lose about a stop and a third.

Sulfite-p-aminophenol deposits crystals of p-aminophenolate not sulfite , of interest with PaRodinal which slowly deposits crystals.
