I'm selling all my alternative equipment and chemistry in this listing.

I built this light box according to specifications that I found online. It consists of 15 parallel, 24" T12 UV fluorescent bulbs that are spaced 1/4" apart. Given that T12 bulbs have a diameter of 1.5", the length of this array of tubes is 26". So, this unit is clearly oversized to expose 16x20 artwork. Seen in the first two photos, there's a drawer that extends out to receive the artwork. The bottom of the bulbs are 2.5" above the surface of this drawer. Using my old 11x14 contact printer, the bottom of the bulbs are only 1" above the negative and coated art paper for Pt/Pd printing. The overall dimensions of the box are 35" in length, 28" depth, and 12" high. When the drawer is withdrawn, and the horizontal door is closed, little or no UV light will escape.

As one might surmise from the third image, meticulous care went into wiring this unit. (It took me months!) Each bulb has it's own ballast and starter. There are three computer fans positioned to cool both the illumination chamber and in the electronics chamber. (They're powered through a transformer seen towards the rear.) The fans operate through a small, brass switch on the front. The lights are powered through a Gralab timer (up to 60 minutes) that is included in the sale. This light box comes with four extra tubes and some extra starters. Two standard 110 volt AC power cords emerge from the rear of the unit. One plugs into the timer to power the UV bulbs, and the second powers the fans.

All the chemicals and equipment shown in the first photo are included in the sale. Note, these chemicals have been sitting in my cabinet for at least ten years. While I suspect that a lot of it is still usable, I can't really guarantee any of the chemicals. I don't have a comprehensive list, but this sale includes 30ml Sodium Palladium Chloride (CAS-NO 13820-53-6), close to 15ml 20% Platinum Solution (CAS-NO 10025-99-1), a little less than 10ml 20% Sodium Platinum Solution (Sodium Chloroplatinate), something less than 2000g of Potassium Oxalate (Crystal, Reagent), 300 grams Gum Arabic Powder, 16oz Sodium Carbonate (Lab Grade Na2CO3), 32oz Sodium Sulfite (Photo Grade), a little less than 500 grams Oxalic Acid, 250 grams Bloom Gelatin (Deionized Ossein), and a little less than 200 grams Ferric Oxalate Powder. These chemicals were purchased new from Bostick and Sullivan, Photographers' Formulary, or from American Scientific in Portland, Oregon.

Equipment includes three 10ml pipettes graduated down to 0.1 ml, a 4" spreader, some empty bottles, a wood holder I made for the pt/pd related chemicals, and three brushes. And of course, the light box.

I'm asking $450 for all. I prefer cash and pick up in Forest Grove, Oregon, which is at the western most tip of the Portland, OR metro area.

However, if the buyer wishes to have the exposure box, etc., shipped, they assume all responsibility for paying the shipping fees, and for crating and packaging. I will transport the chemistry, accessories, and exposure box for any reasonable distance (<50 miles?) for that purpose, and as part of the sale.

nice kit there. not close enough though for the chemistry pickup. can I ask you a question, how long is your normal exposure time with this box?

As I recall, with regular window glass in the contact print, about 6 minutes. (Window glass partially filters UV light.)
