i live in the pacific northwest and would like to hear suggestions as to where to buy 16x20in films. ilford, efke, etc, all ok. thank you.

Welcome to APUG.

If you want new, fresh film, as you may know, Ilford has a once a year ULF film order. This year it was in the Spring. Delivery was in September. Some times dealers order extra of some sizes for stock. Last year I was able to find additional 7x17 through Fred Newman. Sometimes their wholesaler (US distributor WYNIT Inc.) has inventory the dealers can access.

If I were in your position I would contact these dealers who were active in the one time purchase and ask how they can help. Certainly there are other dealers, but I do not have their contact info.

Fred Newman;
The View Camera Store; 9698 North 130th St. Scottsdale, AZ 85259 – Tel: 480-767-7105

Badger Graphic Sales, Inc. 1225 Delandlade St. Kaukauna, WI 54130 Tel: 920-766-9332, fax 920-766-3081. info@badgergraphic.com, Jeff Taugner, www.badgergraphic.com

If you are looking for film someone else bought, stored frozen, and now wants to sell, I would look on eBay, here and the Large Format Forum. Currently Kerry Thalmann, http://www.reallybigcameras.com/ is selling 7x17 film from his freezer on the LFF. http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?t=69259

Good luck,

I see that you are in Seattle. Glazers is part of the Ilford special order program; I bought 5x12 FP4+ through them this year. You might talk to them and see if they can help you or possibly refer you to someone who can.

If you are unable to come up with regular film and need it before next year's special order, you might consider x-ray film. There have been a number of threads about it both here and over at the Large Format Forum. S search should turn up a lot of information about it.

You might also take a look on Ebay - they often have film listed.
