Looking for suggestions...
There is only one 16mm reversal stock that I'm aware of available in double-perf: wittner chrome 200D, product number 2202. I have one can left, and tried to get more today, and was told that they have NO plans to release more in 2R, so I'm at a loss at to what to do. I can troll a certain auction site for expired ektachrome, as I've done in the past, but would prefer to use a fresher stock. Now, yes, I can use my camera that takes single perf (larger, heavier, less compact), or file off the 2nd row of sprockets on the one I'm using now, but would prefer not to, but in desperation I may. I have another camera that I enjoy using that must have 2R. I do all my own developing, so processing isn't an issue.
1.) I have heard there is someone in the UK that will add the second row of perfs if film is sent to him, but that doesn't seem realistic for me in the US.
2.) I can wait for the possibility of ektachrome in 16mm, AND in 2R, which I doubt will ever see. I can wait for Film Ferraria for the same, which may take years, or a decade, or simply not happen at all.
3.)I can use more widely available double 8, (I have some) but the length is SO short, and almost double the cost. I am prepared to file off the sprockets on my camera, but don't want to do so if patience will invalidate this approach.
4.) Kickstarter campaign to build a perforator, and just help out everyone else in my situation?
What does everyone else do, or am I the only one who actually buys double perf anymore?
