Does a 16 bit digital camera of tonal range have the advantage over film…?

Which camera, which film, and advantage in which sense? It all depends.

Is skin better than hammer?

Leica MD 262 vs 35mm…!

oh no...in low light applications film is more difficult regarding tonal range, that is, depending on your skill level and vision.

35mm what? TMX? Portra? Ektachrome?
What are your criteria?

Again, is hammer better than skin?

Kodak Ektar 100…!

Assuming all 16 bits were used for tonality (and not one bit reserved for a different purpose) 65536 levels vs. analog v(irtually continuous gradations of grain size and density in 3D space)
BTW, developed color emulsions has no 'grain' per se, it only has color dye clumps clustered around where grain used to be.

Tough crowd…!
