Looking for lenses (modern or brass, brass should fit 5.25" lensboard) or knick knacks that work on the 14x17 format.
I have a 11x14 series V B&L protar mounted on a Korona lens board behind which is in a packard shutter. The glass is very clear, having had some separation repaired at Focal Point just before John closed shop there... I've been toying with the idea of selling it...Here's a discussion about it + using it with 14x17:
11x14 Series V Protar question
300 M Nikkor, 355 G-Claron, 450 W Nikkor, 600 Fujinon... All of these I use on my 14x17... and pinhole!
No, they are not. I'm just pointing out lenses that I use and they cover the format. But, I highly recommend Reinhold's lenses. I use a 300mm for my 8x10.
Haha figured. How's the coverage if the 300mm Nikkor on the 14x17?
Would the 250mm Kodak wide field ektar (typically in an Ilex #5) cover?
Do you mind sharing pictures, sample images taken with it if possible?

Martin, I know my eyes are bad but not that bad... Pics, please![]()
Another option would be the Kodak Portrait 405mm lens. It's a soft-focus meniscus-y lens, so the corners will get wildly mushy, but you expect that with a soft-focus lens. I've seen it used on a 12x20 before, focused at infinity or nearly so, so it is capable of fully illuminating the 14x17 frame.
The lenses others have mentioned (355 G-Claron, 450 M Nikkor, 600 Fuji) are all good options. Lots of 600mm and longer lenses will cover the format, especially the old process lenses like Rodenstock and Nikkor Apo lenses. I have a 600 f9 Docter Optic Apo-Germinar that is good to at least 16x20 - I need to get it put in a shutter so I can start using it, and I already have a good Ilex 5 for it. The question then becomes do you have the bellows to use the lens?
I use a Wisner 14x17 camera with 1200mm bellows.
