Hi
I have just tried for the first time big peoples paper a move up from 8x10 and was just wondering best way to keep the paper flat when you dont have an easel big enough?
I used a sheet of glass, taped a big metal square to one corner and masked off the other corner to center the image and used a couple of bits of blutac in the corners to hold down the paper, it kind of worked, but what is a better method with something I can make. I either want it boarder less or nice even boarders.
Also I have a 150mm lens on my Durst 1000 and using 4x5 negs. This is maxed out height wise, can I use a 105mm if I want to enlarge further for cropping?
Also also I found it to be around 1 stop difference between 8x10 size and 12x16 size, does that sound about right. I worked my picture on 8x10 paper and then stopped from f16 to f11 to do 12x16. Be handy if it were so I dont have to do another test strip.
I laid my print on some glass with paper towel underneath to dry over night, which kept it reasonably flat but a little curl on the edges, could I sandwich between 2 sheets of glass now its dry to flatten?
Thanks and any other advise on enlarging bigger paper would be appreciated. Most of what I can find is either 8x10 or smaller or mega size.
BTW my first print using 12x16 Foma classic warm tone paper turned out really well. Dodge and burns were a little less fiddly.
