


Because fewer emulsions are available in 220 than in 120.I just don't understand why so few people seem to use 220.

That may be just an exception. Many labs treat 220 as two 120s, so the processing cost per frame is the same. That also applies if you develop the films yourself - you either need to double the amount of developer (if you use one-shot developers mixed from concentrates), or to halve the total number of rolls that can be processed in a certain amount of developer (if you reuse developers).And Samy's charges the same price for 120 or 220 E-6 processing
I can barely finish a roll of 120 in one photo session.
