120 vs 105 film

I've tried to find (Google) if I can use 120 film in a camera made for 105. I think the film size is the same, but maybe not the bobbins?

Anyone know?

I've never heard of 105, except for Polaroid. Polaroid 105 was a pos/neg pack film, as I recall. Before the packs, Polaroid film was in rolls but they are not interchangeable with conventional roll films.

620 and 120 use the same size film with different spools, the 620 spool being smaller. You can sometimes use 120 in a camera meant for 620, there are many threads on the topic, and lots of google-able information.

What is the camera you are looking to find film for?

It all depends on the spool, as you say, since 105 was meant for an image of 2.25 x 3.25 inches. According to this list, 105 was made until 1949. If you can find some of the spools, re-rolling the film shouldn't be a problem.

It might help if you post the camera model that you're trying to use. Someone may have already tried it.

I could shoot 120 in Kodak Panoram 1D. 61.5 x178mm filmsize. i know how to transport film(4 images). maybe takeup spool was 105 dont remember. only know i could load 120. no special precedure. yes its a rotating lens(short rotation called) panoramic camera. curved field filmrails.

You can use 120 film in a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye BUT you must use a 620 spool for take up.

As far as 105 film cameras the numbering on the backing paper will not be correctly positioned.
