Really looking forward to getting back to film processing after a 25 year break. Buying in the equipment at moment and ready to start soon.
Adrian, to begin with i'll be shooting Ilford FP4 in my Rolleiflex 3,5f but I have had great results with Tri-X and T-max. At the moment I've no plans to print at home but will buy an Epson V550 scanner instead.
To be a bit "picky", if you haven't used FP-4 in quite a while, ask for FP4+. Still a great film. I believe you will find no shortage of different 120 B&W films for your Rollei. By the way, if you have not used your Rollei in 25 years, be sure to "dry fire" it at all shutter speeds to be sure all of them are working. Meanwhile, welcome back to the world of B&W film. By the way, Tri-X and T-Max are still around and popular, maybe even improved a little.........Regards!FP4 is quite lovely
Actually, it is Fp4 plus that I bought. The Rolleiflex still gets the occasional working even when there is no film inside. I run her through the various speeds occasionally. Tomorrow I'm off on my first shoot in some time, weather here in Ireland glorious.
good film choice;FP4 + is great in 120 rated at 125; I develop it in D74 for portrait an nudes and Rodinal 1+50 for street and general photography;never lets me down.Adrian, to begin with i'll be shooting Ilford FP4 in my Rolleiflex 3,5f but I have had great results with Tri-X and T-max. welcome to photrio! you'll have fun!
p.s. don't ever take your negatives to a friends house or community darkroom, (holding a silver print you made of your neg), it is the gateway drug to an enlarger and a darkroom.![]()
