11x14 film holders: S&S versus AWB

Hi all,

I am in the market for 11x14 film holders and am inclined to get them new unless some pretty good used ones show up somewhere. Can someone please comment on what the major differences are between S&S and AWB and whether the ca. $100 difference in price seems justified?

I have both, and they are equally good in my opinion. The AWB holders come in different types of woods, with different colors (perhaps slightly richer woods), but I think the S&S work very well, and my last 3 holders purchased were S&S.

I'd agree with John - they both do the job. Also, if you're interested, I think Lou at Photogizzmo in NYC has a couple of Fidelity 11x14 holders for which he wants around $400...
