I've been getting requests for lenses for monstrously large cameras and even for a portable Camera Obscura.
This 1000mm f:13.7 nugget is a step in that direction.
I can confirm that it will easily cover a 24x32" negative or wet plate.

To verify coverage, I made a 24x32x42" dark box with a way to mount a lens in the end wall.
I climbed under a black-out cloth to see what was happening under there...
The white wall on the end of the box displayed the glorious scene of a summer day in my back yard.
Too bad my dark box wasn't larger, I have no doubt the lens would illuminate a much larger image circle.
I'm even thinking of making a knock-down tent-like Camera Obscura just so I can evaluate whopper lenses...
Will this madness ever stop?

Excellent question, just last night I was fantasizing about building something this would fit on, obviously before I read this.

Wonder about affixing it on the side of an ice fishing tent and exposing a large wet plate held on an easel on the side opposite the lens and then processing it right there in the tent. Photographer being inside the "camera" the entire time. Crazy idea and no, I don't need another toy. Hmm, already have the ice fishing tent. No, I don't need it. Yes, I know I promised . . . Another option is to bore a hole in the door of your camper or camp trailer.
A few wing nuts...
5mil black Visqueen on the windows...
Optional: Sink, running water, & cold beer...
Poof: a 1st Class Mobile Camera Obscura.

I jury rigged an extended lensboard to my 8x20 Canham so I could verify focus and bellows draw...

At infinity, bellows draw is 39.4" (1000mm), the same as the focal length.
Cranking the lens out to about 43" (1090mm) brings focus to 200' (60 meters).
To focus at 100' (30 meters), bellows draw would have to be about 46" (1170mm).
An extended lensboard could be quite handy...

All tests were wide open, I didn't attempt to evaluate depth of field.
