As part of my continuing "Facing Reality" 2011 Tour, I'm selling a bit of film I likely won't get the chance to use anytime soon.

This is a nice Chinese-made film I picked up last year in Beijing (at the amazing Wukesong camera mall). It's 100 speed ...FWIW I've always souped it in Rodinal and it prints very well. Dries fairly flat, too.
Its expiry is dated July 2012 - plenty of time to use before the end of the Mayan calendar.

I'd like to sell it together - let's say $3/roll for $30 total plus shipping. Normally use Paypal but I can take other payment and ship once it clears.

I will take it. This is Mike Caravello and I am just starting to get iinto my Busch Pressmaster with 120 rollfilm back.
Maybe if I use black and white I can work on my technique and macro shots with tilt and then move onto the
20 something odd rolls of color slide film that are going to cost a fortune to process! ha ha.

Let me know your paypal account and what it will cost to ship to somerset, NJ. mikec_3d@yahoo.com

Film type?

Colin,

Just curious about the quality of Shanghai GP3 film. Is there any problems or issues using this film? I have not seen it sold locally, other than fleabay and have been hesitant to purchase the film when I can purchase Ilford HP5 for the same price.

I've put a few rolls through my Bronica SQ-Ai and really liked it...has a blue tint to the developed negative but no effect on printing. As I said, it dries flat and I like the tones and grain from it (that's personal taste, though)

I haven't put any through my Hasselblad 500cm yet, so I can't speak to cameras other than the one quoted. Some Chinese films can be very cheaply made, with masking tape holding the backing to the film! I haven't noticed that with this brand...from my (admittedly very limited) experience, Shanghai seems to be a pretty good brand, as does Era in B&W paper...Lucky brand, I've heard not so good things about.

My experience with the Shanghai is that it is decent. It is not PlusX by any stretch of the imagination, but it is priced right for the quality of the images.

hows the consistency batch to batch on this film? getting my TLR out for medium format after i developed a random roll of 120 I found in in the deep crevices of the dark room. (it didnt turn out well, really old, streaked, person who shot it, guessing 6+ years ago didnt meter using it indoors, wasnt even worth scanning)

Id like to get a batch and have some fun with my Yashica this spring and summer. does the shanghai push well? I need some speed as my lens's widest is f3.5.
