I need to buy a few of the smaller 1" hard binders for negatives. Printfile used to make them, but I can't find them anywhere - they seem to have been discontinued. I get the larger 2.5" ones from B&H - Besfile is the brand. Anyone have an idea where to find smaller binders? Or if anyone is making them? Thanks!

The BesFile binders I see at B&H have 1" rings. I haven't see any with 2.5" rings.

The problem with binders from business suppliers is that they are not wide enough when closed. The last inch or so of the sheets sticks out and may be damaged. The sheets require a wider binder made for the task.

I personally do not even bother with these pages. I use glassine sleeves stored in archival envelops stored in archival boxes.

I prefer the hard enclosed binders because they stack well, and as Gerald says, they are the right width for negative sleeves. Freestyle didn't have the ones I was looking for, but that was a good idea - I didn't check them. I don't know what the ring size is, but am more interested in the thickness of the actual binder. Printfile used to make ones that were around 1" thick - they were great for storing a small project in. They were this style:

The Besfile ones only come in one thickness that I can see, around 2".

Sometimes you find them at the local camera trade shows, but I was hoping to find an online source for them.

I've used the standard 2" binders from Office Depot for years and never had a problem with any archival sheets sticking out the end, be they 35mm negative, 35mm slide, or MF. The D ring binders are the best.
