My Hasselblad repairman has told me to fire every shutter 10 to 15 times at the slowest speed every three months. Dry firing between rolls of film is and excellent idea.
The Speed Graphic was meant to be used hand held and not set up on a tripod for field work although it is very capable on a tripod. Shooting hand held helps one learn to work very quickly. Thus the name Speed.

Discontinued film that I bought up all I could when each film I wanted was discontinued. I keep those from the hoarders.
Film I buy on sale, not short or out dated, when I see a need to restock.
Film I buy as a type is beginning to run low.

It is a tough career. I loved the press cameras and flashbulbs going off when I was going up, but as I got older I chose a different career and not that of a commercial photographer either.
