They are all good and do what you want. The question is which cameras fit in your hands that you like to handle and use? Smaller cameras for people with smaller hands; larger cameras for people with large hands.
I tend to take photographs, on purpose, without people because their clothes can automatically date the photograph. I prefer to photograph time invariant subjects, if possible.

I use 500ml for developing with the 1500 tanks and I have no problems with surge marks or drag marks. I either reuse the chemicals the appropriate number of times adjusting for number of rolls processed or in the replenished model. The larger volume helps eliminate the surge and drag problems.
Unfortunately photographing children other then one own has lead to problems, so just stick to photographing your children. If you do not have any, make some.

I have not found FM SLR to be fragile.
There is nothing elegant about TLRs and they are a pain to use with polarizing filters.
TLRs have parallax problems with close ups.
One cannot stop down to see the depth of field with a TLR.
