When I bought my 4"x5" Speed Graphic around 2008, I brought up flash bulbs for various sized from 5 to 22. Once I got them all stored, I have yet to use any of them.

We use couple to mean two exactly and few to mean around 3 or 4. Otherwise we use the exact count.

I use split grade printing of all my negatives and that allows me to avoid dodging and burning most of my prints. Without split grade printing, I was doing a lot of dodging and burning.

The Nikon Z7ii shoots RAW and JPEG. I save both but only use RAW and archive the JPEG.

While that may be true not, the change came too late for my NIkon SB800. I still had to buy a replacement.

I too print 120 strips of film sideways. Separating into individual negatives, produces single negatives which I find are harder to handle that the strips of 3 negatives.

Frankly I prefer the Jobo 3010 Expert Drum which processes up to 10 sheets of 4"x5" film.

I now use the CPP2 machine. Sorry, I should have state the the CPA machines are smaller and less versatile.

Welcome to Photrio! The CPA machine uses the 1500 tanks and possible the drums. I have had the CPE and CPP machines and I use the Jobo 3010 Expert Drum for up to 10 sheets of 4"x5" sheet film and the 1540 for 35mm and 120 film.

That is so true and the more experience one has the harder it is to start the task.

As noted above even with access to electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency generators, etc, one needs circuit diagrams, repair manuals, and spare parts and without them the chances of repair are limited. Even having an Electrical Engineering MS cannot overcome the absence of...

Using the depth of field scale can help if 1) the depth of field scale is on the lens and 2) one is willing to use smaller apertures to increase the depth of field.

When I bulk loaded film, it became at a loss for me when the photo processing labs stopped returning my 35mm cassettes.

I too like punchy and fine grain. I standardized on Kodak Portra 400 in 135 and 120, which is close to Kodak Porta 160 with that extra speed than helps keep the tripod folded up. Maybe I too will do some testing.
